Has your car appeared in the press ?

Postby turbodog » Wed Dec 21, 2005 9:29 am

To start the ball rolling, I've attached a write up showing a A610. This car I believe is still around but who owns it ?

I have quite a collection of road tests and articles so will post one on a regular basis.

:D

The scans are full size so save them to your PC and view using a picture viewer.

National press, name and car only no pictures (Retro doesn’t count). Local press, Pic’s, car and interview, which I contributed to the costs, but did not get any return from it :( (Self-promotion to attract some more sponsors)

Performance Car

Postby Tony Smith » Fri Dec 23, 2005 7:09 am

My black car is the one driven and described in the buying guide in Performance car in late 89 (although the pictures are from a different source) and was also featured in Revs ( when it was a decent magazine!) in December 1999. I'm also hoping to get it featured in a few this year - Performance GTi, Retro and also one of the French Alpine Magazines.
Alpines - GTA 3.0 Turbo, GTA 3.0 Inj (Project DD), GTA 6.2 V8 (500 bhp) , R32 Skyline GTR, BMW Alpina B10 635 Highline, Alpina B10 E39 5 Series, Jaguar 4.2 XKR, Laguna 205GT, BMW 120d.

I was going to post this a while back but I had to dig out the magazine and scan it.

This picture formed the front cover of 'Mens Quest' magazine issue number 2. 'Coincidently' they only ran to two issues!

The guy on the Fireblade is my friend Rupert; basically 6 odd years ago we ran a company together based out of a brand new serviced office in Tunbridge Wells. The only other company in the building to start with was Blue Sky publications - publishers of a very noble mens magazine designed with a view to take on Maxim etc. Problem was it was a great idea, targeted at a more mature audience with articles about having kids, careers, social issues, but so poorly conceived it was amazing.

It also overlooked the fact that a lot of magazines are about escapism and hence a lot of men don't want to be reminded of their mortgage when they can look at a pair of oiled breasts! Doomed to failure from the start.

Being strapped for cash they'd all be pitching in with articles and asked Rupert if we'd feature in a magazine article - "Why are men aggressive?" Hence the staged bike / car stand-off (shot in the car-park) and a very fake arm-wrestle where I'm trying not to laugh shot in a local bar.

You try hanging out the window of a GTA. You don't even want to know where the handbrake was
