battery relocation

Has any one moved there battery some other place, to fit a bigger one with more amps? i am buying a new every year and was hoping for two years with a bigger one. :lol:

you can fit a larger one on the original tray.

remove the battery tray and flatten the lip at the front of the tray, this will enable you to fit a larger battery in the original position i.e. poles still in line as apposed to side by side.

also when you have the tray out you can clean up the earth strap mounting point or change it for a new one.

why are your batteries going flat so quickly?

if your car is laid up for a while you should connect up to a battery conditioner like zetec (think thats the name) charger, you just leave it on and it charges the battery as required as opposed to constantly charging and burning out the battery.

this is the type that i use on my cars (6 off!)

i have found it to be very quick to charge a battery from flat.

the car is standing still all winther, and have had problems starting because of a broken idle controle valve, and a heater fan only working on full power, that and the after cooling is giving the small battery a hard time.
what size of battery can you fit if the end is bend down ?

get a red top battery,small lightweight but with more power only downside is the cost$$ :(

Redtops are excellent (I have one) but they arent the best at retaining charge. Mine goes flat if I dont unplug it pretty much every time. They are made because of their weight for racing, not sure I'd have one as an everyday battery if I wasnt competing.

Have one on the TR7 V8 and it seems fine, Think its a Red Top 40
