Yes......how could they have a test of the worlds supposedly fastest cars (i.e. top speed) and not include the car that holds the record (although the Veyron may have overhauled it) and is quoted in their own lists as fastest!!!??
Did they respond?

850bhp and a lot less weight....the Koenigsegg would have whipped its ass round corners and been close on top speed and straight sprint.
You will note Top Gear were allowed to drive the Veyron but not put it round the track to record a time.
0-100-0 is currently held by an Ultima with the same engine and power as the Koenigsegg.

Veyron, to my mind is a piece of art. Konis fast, but pig ugly, who needs ugly cars?

Have you looked carefully at the back, almost A310 !!! And the Front A110, without the frogs eye's

The Veyron is a bloated monster of a car......its not ugly but its big and fat....its a cruiser not a drivers car. If you want a fast cruiser buy a Merc S class AMG (and save yourself about £700,000!) if you want a drivers supercar buy a Ferrari, a Koenigsegg, a Mclaren......the list goes on.
The Veyron is a technological masterpiece but its a big white elephant to boot.....its the answer to a question no one asked!

It's a shame you did not enjoy the drive. But I am sure it will sell, to those who can afford.

I'm sure I would love the drive.....but owning one would be utterly pointless as theres no where you could use it to get the most of it and from what Ive seen the response and driver feel are limited so other than sheer brute force of the acceleration there wouldnt be a lot of joy. On a track (where you might beable to use more of its potential) there are quicker cars available at a lot less money.
It will sell because they are limiting numbers.....but it isnt going to make VW a penny....in fact they are loosing big time on every one they sell.
White elephant!

I totally agree, that the "egg" is way more of a drivers car compared to the Veyron. And who can resist those doors, just bloody awesome.
As for the recordholding Ultima, i'am affraid that it isn't quite the same engine. The "egg" uses a all alloy 4,7 litre Ford derrived V8 which delivers 806 bhp, where as the Ultima uses a big block Chevy V8, which delivers 720 bhp.

Kind regards

According to the stats in the back of Evo magazine, the Veyron produces 987bhp but weighs a shocking 1888kg  and has a power to weight ratio of 531bhp/ton.

The Ultima GTR640 produces 640bhp, weighs 980kg and has a power to weight ratio of 666bhp/ton

0-60mph in 2.7secs, 0-100mph in 5.5secs!
