Can anyone tell me if the Adaptronic management has the facility to control an external wastegate!??

Also can you run wasted spark and fit a coil pack instead of the conventional setup!??

Just download the software off my site and have a play. (download a map file too from the Applications page so you have something to work with)

I must say i am very impressed DG.
That unit is very good value for money!

I spoke to my engineer friend again this morning and have decided on the route i am going to take.
He suggested that i found out a bit more about the adaptronic first so that i knew what i have to spend.

You won't really need any extras. The Adaptronic can hardwire directly into the original loom, use all the original sensors including the ISCV, TPS etc. If your going to be running less than a bar of boost then you can keep the factory map sensor. Injectors are all you need... You can even keep the original throttle 'switch' system, but it is better to use a 5v potentiometer which are about £45.00

No not a dini engine,been there done that!!!

When i showed Pete,(Engineer friend), the piston and conrod he immediately said it looked just like a maserati v6 setup,due to the large main bearing journal!

As regards to the extras,he was quite insistant that i go for a management system that will be able to control the ex wastegate as this will help the top end power when running high comp.Not sure how this is acheived though,something about the boost side!?

Yes.
I picked up some brand new cams/rockers for £20 but not sure if they are Z6W or Z7X so am going to send them off to get them checked!

Can tell by looking at them. Z6W are odd fire and have the dizzy drive at one end on the left one. Z7X are 3 litre and all have a hole for a drive pin at the flywheel end.

wastegate control:

ist not really easy to keep boost stable through the rev range, due to the change in backpressure. you can use a pwm output to prevent the boost from tapering off at high revs. its also a nice idea, to controll the wastegate depending on the gear your in, so you can achieve full boost in 2. and 3. gear, and maybe even in first, if the blower will spool up quickly enough and you dare to do it.

I am looking to use a ball bearing turbo,if i can find a suitable one,for i am told this will bring the boost in approx 500rpm lower than a conventional type!??
