Convert to left hand steer

Postby Britfrog » Wed Jul 09, 2008 9:07 am

I am thinking of a right hand steer A610 and then converting to left hand steer wehn I leave the UK in 2 years.

Is this possible. I can by the parts that I have thought of but am not sire if this is possible wif the body is different.

The parts I have recognised are

Instrument panel
Steering colum
Steering rod
Pedals
Heating unit
Headlights
Window wiper
Carpet

I don't know if there would be tangle with electric cables and hydraulic pipes and accelerator cable.

Is this possible as right hand steer is better for me now. One reason I would want to do this is that I want to put my heart in the car I buy and then would not want to sell to then have to buy another.

I cannot afford a good left hand steer right now.

I would like to know if this is possible and how difficult it is going to be.

When the new RHD cars were reduced to £10,000 less than the LHD cars a few went back to France to be converted. That implies it can be done presumably for considerably less than £10,000!!
