Anyone want to share my GTA trackcar project

Postby Tony Smith » Sat May 22, 2010 7:15 am

I've got an atmo I want to convert into a track car - anybody want to share.
Requirements -
1) 2k ( or 2k's worth of bits) get you a 1/2 share in the finished car. Any additional build costs to be shared.
2) We should be well acquainted i.e. no strangers
3) You need to live in reasonable proximity to me - say 75 mile radius of Gatwick airport

Other details can be discussed - much cheaper to double drive and share costs. Car spec to be agreed - rotary power under investigation.

PM me with any questions
Alpines - GTA 3.0 Turbo, GTA 3.0 Inj (Project DD), GTA 6.2 V8 (500 bhp) , R32 Skyline GTR, BMW Alpina B10 635 Highline, Alpina B10 E39 5 Series, Jaguar 4.2 XKR, Laguna 205GT, BMW 120d.

Tony, that’s a fair and serious offer for the right person, hope you find somebody with the same aspirations.

I have a race X19 (PBS spec) and this has sat idle for I hate to say how long, and had been thinking on similar lines to get me motivated and out getting out on a track again. Fortunately chatting to a fellow tuner has sparked an idea of collaboration :) Time commitments is always the big thing, and agreeing spec the next!

Keep us posted how you get on, will you be updating on here the project and it’s progress, or will it be a disappearium and reapperium when all done?

What racing are you actually thinking about doing? What is the competition in comparison, and will it be capable of podium finishes? Just interested, would like to understand and know more. Although I know there is a competition side to this club, I don’t think it’s really explicitly focused and explained. I think it would be beneficial to have a “Get-competitive, get started” guide or news letter, and actively encourage exploit in competition..

Good luck, please keep the info coming

Sprints and hillclimbs, Brunters and track days

Postby Tony Smith » Sat May 22, 2010 11:52 am

Just thought it would be sensible to share costs - do maybe 6 sprints/hillclimbs a summer with the club Bruntingthorpe days / Crouix and the odd track day thrown in. I'm sick of having loads of cars I never use and there are plenty of other people in the club who I know in the same boat. Makes sense to do it with road cars too - me and Phildini have talked about car sharing at length as we live very close. I use some of my cars barely 10 weekends a year - so plenty of room for someone else to use them 2.
