Eleven specialists have been named. A chain of eleven new Renaultsport Specialist dealerships is being set up by Renault to help reflect the passion and enthusiasm felt by owners for Renaultsport products.

Do you guy's think this could be an exeriment to see if there is demand for special performance Renault's, possibley pave the way for a return of the Apine brand???? I hope so!

Nope :lol:

It's a marketing exercise for the existing range of ' Track ' cars aimed at selling the lesser models in the range .
Gordini stripes for the Twingo etc and the Alp badge may appear on some sport version soon .
No money for any real diversity or development anymore in the true spirit of an Alpine
It won't work either as the younger generation don't recognise either marque .
In 20 years there will be a similar following as we now have here for the RS models .It's natural progression ......................

You are more than likely to be right, it is a shame because fiat have done it with Abarth and there is deffo a gap in the market for a Lotus elise rival, which could use either a clio 200 lump going up to the megane 250 lump in an exige rivaling car!!!

Isn't it just what is big on the Rally scene over here? If you look at the cars now commanding ever-increasing prices, and admittedly mostly at least rear wheel drive, they are all closely coupled to the UK rally scene. So I think Lee is right, I don't think the later generation Renaults in RHD, and especially FWD are going to see anything like the following or value.

I think we will see an Alpine again in the future, although I fear it would be face lifted/re-branded Nissan 350Z and not a new car from scratch.

Out of interest what are Dieppe upto these days?

thank god I've got a specialist 5mins walk from here who tells you the horror stories of how they like to rip you off, not that I had that first hand!

I think its such a shame that dealers let Renault down in this country!

time to do like VW have done and take charge of the dealerships, as I couldn't believe it when my dad came home with his golf and now he's on his 2nd golf! thats someone who's had renaults since the 60's and now won't go into a renault dealership! LOL

Why don't they call them 'Renault performance centers'...... Oh, sorry, they did that one before.......... :lol:

Alpine and Gordini still have a reputation in the rest of europe. It's only here that so few people know the name. There will be an Alpine some day, but as mentioned before, It'll be based on a Z Nissan.. (not bad cars, but not alpines). And the Gordini name is being used on some warmed over hot hatches already.

Priorities

I'm afraid Renaults priority (and many other brands) is getting the super eco electric cars up and running. Not going to be a great few years for petrolheads - but hey I was never going to buying a new car anyway. I don't think its just cars that were used in motorsport that are worth money - its just an age thing (and most sporting cars of a time feature in some kind of motorsport.) But with Ford for e.g Mk2 Cortina 1600 E's making big money now and stuff like MkII Escort mexico's which were just a poor mans RS 2000 - bit like the Gordini Clio will be really.
Alpines - GTA 3.0 Turbo, GTA 3.0 Inj (Project DD), GTA 6.2 V8 (500 bhp) , R32 Skyline GTR, BMW Alpina B10 635 Highline, Alpina B10 E39 5 Series, Jaguar 4.2 XKR, Laguna 205GT, BMW 120d.
