GTA Turbo uprated headbolts

Postby clee » Mon Mar 29, 2010 2:36 pm

I have finally found a source for these .
Not sure what they are from Renault of if you can still get them but the Turbo OE ones were around £13 + vat .These are 10.9 tensile strength .

The ones listed at motor factors etc are not the turbo type ,these are really only suitable for Atmo ,they are 8.8 tensile .

I need a min order on the uprated ones and dependent on that I can get them for around £10 each .They are high tensile caphead screws 12.9 so a far stronger bolt .
You need 16 so it's not cheap but if you are building up a new lump well worth it in the long run .

I need to pay for these up front as they are specials and made to order so if you are interested please let me know .

Hi Lee,
Common to the z7x too? Can the originals be re-used or are they stretch bolts?

Thanks
Lee

I'm advised that they can be re-used and have done so myself although the book says NON !!
I'm looking at pushing it a fair bit more than just a std headgasket swap though so thought it prudent to try and find some .
You will probably be OK using the same ones again on a std rebuild if they have not been used once before ?
