Clutch release bearing GTA V6

Postby pelopelirrojo » Thu Feb 16, 2012 10:40 pm

Hi all.

I need to change the clutch release bearing on my GTA V6 atmo.

Is there enough room in the engine bay to move the engine rearwards enough to get in and change the release bearing and avoid taking the engine fully out.

Advice appreciated.

Paul.

Probably .I've taken just the engine out through the hatch so there should be enough room .Bearing should be no issue .
You will probably have to undo the main water pipes as I can see them fighting you but apart from that on an Atmo that should be about it apart from engine mounts ,they should undo at the bottom plate ,
You need to put a trolley jack under the box and lift engine on hoist .Getting it all back in and aligning will be the fun bit

I think Steve Barker swapped his clutch in a night before an event at York in situ .
