gta bolt in tyre valves

Postby andy001 » Thu Jul 19, 2012 7:34 pm

i've just had new tyres fitted but one of the original valves needed replacing. now it seems all car wheels have an 11.5mm hole in the rim for the valve but the gta alloys are 9.5mm and nobody keeps them in stock. standard rubber or metal bolt in valves can only be fitted by drilling out the the rim but if you don't want to risk this you might have to wait a few days as they are special order only  and renault don't have them either

:?:

I just drill out the OE valve and fit a std rubber ....You don't need to increase the hole in the rim .

I've got plenty of V6 clio alloy valves from Dieppe. Will measure one.

the newer renault alloys will probably be 11.5mm but the standard rubber valves just broke when trying to pull them through the 9.5 mm hole in the gta wheel.
