F644UPA 1989 Alpine GTA V6 N/A

Postby bebren25 » Tue Sep 04, 2012 10:05 pm

As a possible new member (still awaiting confirmation) I wondered if anyone had any history on the above car. It has RAOC stickers front and back, and so would presume that at one time belonged to a club member.
The condition of the car was not an indication of a loved car. The engine oil was black like tar and just showed at the bottom of the dipstick. It seems that there are a few items requiring attention of which none appear as major at the moment. I hope to get the car sorted with the help of a dealer up here in Scotland at Memsie near Fraserburgh in the North East. I am hoping that it will be roadworthy by the 16th of this month, as there is a meeting at Knockhill then. I don't suppose there will be that many Alpines at this event, and so it should stand out quite well. For the little I have used it so far it sure does draw attention from both drivers and the general public. I won't tell you what some people thought it was but it starts with "F", do I need to say more.

Some people are mad, they look nothing like Fiats although the electrics could well be related :)

They were trying to say it looked like a Fer (no I cant do it). But Alonso has one, it's the red car with the AA van behind it. :D

No I assume you are joking. Because it's red it has to be a Ferrari, God forbid. Anyway I've been up to Memsie this morning to arrange our next goal, which is to replace the oil pressure switch and manifold gasket. I really am not sure what has happened to this poor car in the past. But at least I've got it now so it will be looked after. :D
