Postby blueg33 » Sat Dec 08, 2012 2:15 pm

I guys I have tried search but don't think it works.

I need to get to the door release acuator

Can someone give me a simle step by step guide. I haveworked out how to remove the rear seats, but as its cold outside I dont want to spend hours working out how to get t the right bit.

The problem is the eletric door release is U/S. The relay clicks so I want to start with cleaning contacts and lubricating the mech

I did the actuators on my GTA.
Once i got the panels off, the problem was immeadiately ovious.
Corrosion on all the mechinism. Pushrods, pivots etc..
Some WD40, a small dosing of oil from a can, and then manually move the lock by hand. Repeat many many times until it frees up.
Once the mechinism is free, the solinoid should be able push the lock open and closed.

Hi Andrew

I have to do the job outside and it started to rain pretty hard so I have postponed the job!

I have noted your number, I thought I would give it a go then call you if I have problems. I have located a brief section in the workshop manual that tells me how to remove the panel.

Thanks
