Rear Polycarbonate Panel for GTA Turbo to Replace Glass

Postby japanalpine » Fri Feb 20, 2015 2:08 am

Hi all,

Here I am....again :angel

We broke the rear glass while doing a recent clutch replacement, it was an accident. Too much pressure on the panel when moving it around. We found one, only one, here and the owner wants a literal Queen's ransom. Lee has mentioned he has a set of glass, but it's heavy and may not be that cheap to ship, then again it could be. On the assumption that it is too heavy/expensive, what about replacing it with a nifty polycarbonate panel? I see one offered on a Alpine related page on Facebook (don't know if I can or should mention it). Seems like that might be a great option.

Thoughts? Good deals? I'm all ears!

Cheers!

Tom ,the one I mentioned IS polycarbonate :wave I wasn't thinking to ship glass all that way :crazy
I've had the whole glass set copied in 4mm ,formed and with the black borders .Last page shows the latest panels.
It's probably my stuff on FB page as well ?

Tommy, would definitely recommend getting the polycarb unit from Lee. Have seen these and they are superb. No issues with carriage either. :super

Lee, didn't want to step on any toes or make assumptions. Glad to know these are from you. Can you quote a rear panel to Japan? We will get by for now with a home made plexiglas panel, but this would be much better.

Cheers!

Shipping is going to be a killer unless you can rustle up some more sales over there/need more bits ....over £350 based on 120x120x20cm @ 10kg .Needs bulky protection .........but chargeable weight is 50kg plus so could bulk it up with other bits for no extra cost
