It is not necessary for your Dealer to contact France themselves, all they have to do is send an order to Renault UK in the usual way they order other Renault spares, and Renault UK get it from France and forward it to your local dealer.

I think the problem is they order all the normal parts on line, but it's still a fax to Renault uk for alpine parts and that's why many are reluctant to do it,that's what I have been told anyway. My local dealer always rolls his eyes when I ask...(or did). But you are right John, they don't have to contact france directly.
Some one in the club told me that the parts are collected in person by Renault UK too from Dirppe, and the delay is to do with when they go. I have no way of verifying this, but whatever the process it makes Simon Auto's an attractive project comparatively.
