Windscreen washer bottle GTA

Postby bazzamac » Sat Jul 29, 2017 2:50 am

Hi all

Not sure if this has been posted before as don't know how to use the search engine for topics.

I have a leaking windscreen washer bottle in my GTA V6 Turbo. A small crack just where the pump sits. Is it repairable and how? Are new or second hand ones available?

Problem solved. Future son in law, who is a panel beater and top gun sprayer (he resprayed my A110) happened to drop by and advised the bottle is made of thermoplastic. Careful work on the leaking area with a hot soldering iron and bingo no more leaks.

That future son in law sounds like a catch to me!

My daughter thinks so and incidentally so do I. Very knowledgeable about cars generally.

Yes I was going to say the same. Years ago the RAC did the same thing on my coolant bottle. Got us home and worked a treat for the week or so it took for a new one to arrive. Keeping in mind that it's pressurised versus the washer bottle it should last well enough.
I'm just here for the gasoline.
