Up to anything??????

Postby StephenB » Tue Feb 16, 2010 8:40 am

Clee,
As you asked I just got my Alpine back on the road after 9 months and lots of euros to Mr Walsh.
Stolen in March 2009 and f*^%ing wrecked.
However we now have a very different machine. Laguna V6 engine with turbo attached.
Picture can be seen with Mr D's new Clio V6 outside Richards place.
Very pleased with the results. :P
Need to sort out a couple of issues to get it completely sorted.
Fuel tank sender & heater being the most pressing with intermittent wipers and a leak into the drivers footwell being the others.
Goes like s**t of a hot shovel.
Happy bunny

5 Le car Turbo: Get it back on the road this year!
5 Gordini Atmo: One day.........
5 Alpine Turbo: Advertise and sell this beautiful minter
Jaguar XJ40 She is mint so no work needed.... for the moment it is British after all.

Same story for 2 years now. When we see it we will beleive it.

My GTA :
Adaptronic : Cold weather permitting, it will be going on this weekend. Lee I need it mapped, will hopefully call you at the weekend, so long as it is not too cold out side.
Wheels : Rimstock wheels, not sure on black or silver yet.
Brakes : researching an upgrade
Flywheel : Lightened one under consideration, not sure what to do about clutch. GTA clucth is so heavy that an agressivly light flywheel could be disadvantaged by heavy clutch and clutch cover
Heat : seriously considering Zircotec plasma coating for manifolds, turbo and collector.
http://www.zircotec.com/page/-_performance_white/41
Tallent : People kepp telling me that driver training will gain me load so ftime???
Corner weights : Should help car balance, might even look at adjustable top rear wish bones, but suspension experts are telling me that loads of camber is good ???
LSD : any one got a spare one?
Hatch : Rear glass would be nice if it was replaced with a louvred clear alternative, any know any clever polycarnonate formers?

My Lexus : japanese crap, horribly reliable, just needs an oil change.

My Ferrari : ?

Head buried in books, or more accurately the computer recently learning Pro/Engineer - which has opened a whole load of possibilities up.

DeLorean stuff ticking over but nothing you guys would be interested in. The 3 litre project is on its way but there's a lot more going into that car than just the engine and £3k's worth of exhaust....

Mr D about to become a Daddy soon then? :D

Nothing interesting from me really. I might try and find a nice set of bouncing baps for my new avatar.....

Water pump on it's way from me old mate Si in Germany (still not sleeping too well after shelling out £250 for it  )so I'll need to fit that with Ed China soon. Then a service, new exhaust and a couple of niggles. Waxoil treatment all done, I'll let you boys know how it went and pricing soon (got a members discount out of them).

But that GTA Atmo is running and it has not dumped its coolantant all over the road its not gobbing and spitting oil all over the engine bay.

I have driven it twice, I even turned out to a meet on Monday night and drove home, still some issues that concern me, but its drivable.

I have to say its been a long struggle it 2 and 3 quarter years to get it to this stage. The engine first ran just prior to October 2008 I think .....Altzheimers is setting in, I cant quite be sure how long its been, its just long

I have ordered a new lock set for the Lemans ....now starts the slog to get the Lemans finished, as well as trying to iron out the probs/issues with the Atmo.

It finally drives Clee it fianlly drives, I got a tear in my eye

6 and a bit years to drive a GTA and relax enough to actually enjoy it 8)
