Insurance???

Postby ben » Wed Jun 02, 2004 10:59 pm

Im just about to renew my insurance for my GTA. The best price i have got so far is £295.00 from Footman and James. I do have 6 points for speeding and im 27, but i was hoping to get it a bit cheaper than that with the milage limited to 3000 ( ).

Has anyone got any useful contacts or advice on a cheaper company to use? Any help would be great....

Try Herts insurance co. They are based at Bishops Stortford (v. local for you!!). They specialise in performance, modified and kitcars. I'm with them at the mo. after they did an ad campaign in all the car mags I read!!!

You could try Carol Nash in Altrincham.

Im with them, there quite good, 8000 miles and agreed value with photos of £8000.

And all for the measley sum of £365.

But you should get it cheaper doing less miles.

Yes, Carile Nash for me too.
Agreed value of £8k and 3k miles, only £155, but I have age on my side (thirty-something) and no points (at the moment).

I've always found AON to be excellent value. I've had up to 6 GTA's on a classic car collection policy with them.

Thanks for all your suggestions people.

I ensured the car with Carol Nash today for £266.00.
I rang Herts Insurance and they wanted over £460.00.

Oops, sorry I'm a bit late but I use Adrian Flux for my assorted motors. I'm 40+, one car stolen (mint, white 1988 quattro turbo, so if anyone offers you a cheap one its probably mine !), and 3 points.... for £240.

Yep,

Adrian Flux, agreed value, £100 excess, 40yrs old, no points, 3k limited, garaged in Somerset. Had someone run in the back of me 3yrs ago.

Quote was £213 best of about 5 quotes, worst was 275.

Postby clivebawden » Thu Jul 22, 2004 12:20 pm

I wanted an unlimited mileage policy for my GTA atmo as it is to be my only form of transport (I know I'm an optimist!). I was astounded to get a fully comp policy from Tesco on-line for £250! I am over 40, and accepted a huge excess (£450) and cut out all the options (NCB protection, legal, breakdown, etc) to get it that low. I have one SP30 and no accidents (in last 3 years anyway!).

Just had a renewal from Carole Nash.

£521 !!!! Its gone up nearly £200.

Whats the telephone number of this AON please, as Adrian Flux weren't very good either.

I've got 7 years no claims, although they dont take this into account on classic policies.
No accidents or convictions, no points or anything. Garaged too.
