Toyo R888

I've fitted Toyo R888 on both my GTA's but haven't had a chance to try them on any good roads. My advice would be go for the grippiest tyre you can find on the front. In my experience the rear end has got so much grip that its not so essential to have an ultra grippy tyre at the rear.

If you use one of the real cheap makes then you'll find they polish really well :lol:

My LS400 has these Nangkang clogs on the rear.

They must be the hardest wearing tyres available.

They were on the car when I got it, I have since found out that they are less than £40 each and as much as I drift around with wheelspin to the red line in 2nd gear, (on private roads of course) after 10 k miles I'm still left with too much tread to justify new boots.

I think they are carbon fibre :D They have recut my front wheel arches a treat and show no signs of wear .

Hi, I'm back! Finally got Broadband on an hour ago following my move. Dont you just luv BT?

I put a set of Dunlop 9000s on the A610 as road tyres and have run them for the last year and I cannot fault them wet or dry. I have not thought about track tyres yet for my spare set of wheels so I will keep on learning from what you all say. I ran Bridgestone Potenzas on my Impreza but the treads tore off on a track day at Goodwood so I was not imprezzed ! ! "

So, when, or rather if my GTA sees the public road again I'll have
maybe five thousand miles until the rear Yokahamas(original wheels) become slicks.

I was lucky when the B.F. Goodrich ( put on by "Team Central", the suppliers of the car) needed replacing. A phone call to a local E.T.B.
found a pair of Yokahamas in stock previously ordered by another GTA owner who never collected.

The next set came from a tyre place in Bromsgrove who used to keep a pair in stock knowing of the GTA supply problem.

There's a special guardian angel who looks after motoring fools!

We are not however the only victims of Renault's curious choice of wheel/tyre combinations. An ATS branch manager once told me of owners of the then new Clio rolling up expecting to purchase a new tyre or two, only to find the required size of Michelin unavailable or nearly so.
