He "might" beat you over a quarter mile, but remember you have a Grand Tourer "GT".
How does he feel and how does his car behave when it has been driven at 130+mph for 40 minutes, "Cannonball style"?

Joe's standard A610 kicked bottom remember, and yours should have a similar power to weight.

It's all down to that 1st to 2nd gear shift if you ask me....... just don't bodge it up and embarrass us all right

1/4m times

Postby Tony Smith » Fri Mar 31, 2006 2:23 pm

At Santa Pod (which is slightly uphill) a standard GTA with a good launch will run high 14's - low 15's. A chipped (220-230bhp) car will run mid 14's. By my reckoning about 250 bhp required to break into the 13's and about 320-330 to get in the 12's.
Alpines - GTA 3.0 Turbo, GTA 3.0 Inj (Project DD), GTA 6.2 V8 (500 bhp) , R32 Skyline GTR, BMW Alpina B10 635 Highline, Alpina B10 E39 5 Series, Jaguar 4.2 XKR, Laguna 205GT, BMW 120d.

Tony, how many goes do you get before the clutch disappears?

That depends

Because the GTA has massive traction off the line you could probably break it in 1 go if you tried hard enough! Because I'm poor I tend to be more sympathetic and sacrifice a few tenths for a bit of mechanical sympathy

With 500bhp, you wont need to drop the clutch, I'm guessing it would just be effortless to accelerate !!!
