The boost controller is totally seperate....its just an electronic bleed valve that will iron out uneveness in boost levels. The piggy back fuelling module will do half the job that DGs ECU will do.....it wont adjust the timing.....itll do the same function as Steve's Dastek (although the Dastek does have the ability to alter the ignition curve if wired up etc) does on his GTA. It would allow bigger injectors without over fuelling probems.

Try getting someone to fit it!

Postby Tony Smith » Tue Feb 21, 2006 1:55 pm

I have a similar thing by HKS on my Skyline and it came with a car specific loom that allows you to plug it in to the original ECU. It allows timing and fueling adjustment and works very well (315bhp at the wheels at 13.5 psi boost). I did ask Abbey Motorsport about fitting one to my GTA. They didn't say it was impossible but said it would be hugely time consuming and they charge about £60 an hour so it was a no go.
I think you'll have the same problem as I did when trying to get someone to fit DG's ECU - lots of teeth sucking and worry about fitting it on a car they've never heard of. Several well known tuners declined to try and fit an aftermarket ecu to my car
Alpines - GTA 3.0 Turbo, GTA 3.0 Inj (Project DD), GTA 6.2 V8 (500 bhp) , R32 Skyline GTR, BMW Alpina B10 635 Highline, Alpina B10 E39 5 Series, Jaguar 4.2 XKR, Laguna 205GT, BMW 120d.

As I said.......its only a fuel control device, not ignition, so it shouldnt be difficult to wire in or set up (think it needs connecting to 4 wires from the ECU and plugs into a lap top and comes with a program disc to run it)......but why spend £200 on it when the DG ECU is not too far away and far more sophisticated.

Nope, thats the bonus of standalone management.

Traction control and antilag will soon be availble through firmware upgrades in the ecu...

Yes, it has closed loop boost control, constantly regulated by the ecu...

You still require a solenoid valve to do it, but the ecu can control it all..

Why was your torque figure so low??? I made over 240lbs and Clee made similar? I dont know what standard torque figure is but I know its over 200lbs.......the big turbo and extra boost ought to have raised it more I think.

Just a thought Stephen? with all the mods coming on stream i.e.Art Chip, ECU, Charge cooler, different engines ect, wouldnt it be good to do a sticky on power graphs and mods :?:better to have them all together maybe :?: i know every rolling road is different but it would give some idea with mods v power.

As all RR are different, perhaps Noble have some "graph smoothing" function turned on???

Yes, alot of newer RR's have this...

Also on Lee's plot, there is a smaller scale on the left hand side, ie, to drop 5 bhp, the line drops about 10mm, on Steves it drops about 1.5mm, so Lee's looks more jerky...

Theres just not enough people to make the numbers up and make consistant readings across the board that are useful...
