I talked to the guy with the 504 Cabrio 24V about how he fitted the inlet manifold around the other way. He simply slotted the mounting holes about 8 mm. With ported heads, custom inlet and exhaust and a M48 Motec programmable ecu, it showed 176Kw at the wheels.

The inlet manifold on the 24v has two parts, an upper and lower casing and they bolt together.. It must be that he has rotated just the top half, and not the bottom, as this is still impossible to rotate the whole thing as the inlet ports are staggered...!

Steves got an article on an A310 running a cammed, mapped 24v engine making 252bhp at 7500rpm, but peak torque of only 200lb/ft at 5800rpm(!) and only half that at 3000.... :?

Torque

Postby Tony Smith » Wed Feb 15, 2006 10:34 pm

Thats poor torque a standard turbo makes double that and I'll be gutted if mine hasn't got at least 320 -330 ft/lbs minimum at 3000 rpm

From what I saw on the 504 Cab a few days ago, he had slotted the holes where the manifold had bolted to the heads, to counter the stagger. I guess I will have to show you a photo to prove it can be done, but I don't have one currently.

And I admit 236Hp at the wheels sounds like an optimistic dyno to me, but that was the figure (176Kw) he quoted. Maybe 176Hp is on the money.
