I'm not totally clear myself - am still awaiting full details as well as a proposal of how we proceed.

However, I believe cars getting damaged in transit is a fact of life and there are on site bodyshops at distribution centres. The issue here I guess is we have an aluminium car with parts that are not readily available.

Like most car manufacturers, Renault and Alpine use a logistics company to do the shipping and vehicle finishing once it arrives in the UK. It might be that something has happened during that delivery step, such as when fitting the alarm that is specific to the UK (as far as I'm aware that is done in Southampton). Check out https://www.groupecat.co.uk/our-services/ as an example of what can be done on arrival in the UK.

I've seen a few with marks on the lip of the rear bumper that is usually hidden by the rear light cluster, but is sometimes visible when the fit isn't quite flush. Can be fixed by the dealer though. That isn't to detract from what is a brilliant car either, it's absolutely worth the wait :up

No update or proposal available today despite one being promised by end of yesterday.

Someone really important from Alpine with a job with "European responsibility" is in the UK next week and will be meeting with my dealer whilst over to discuss my situation. He is apparently aware of it, but despite being so important we have to wait a week for him, he isn't quite important enough to make a quick decision.

Regrettably I've requested my deposit back. The experience is way too soured and the confidence in any problems being dealt with effectively is just not there :-(

This would have been my 4th vehicle from the Dieppe factory so they've kinda managed to lost themselves a life long customer.

I hope you all continue to enjoy your cars - a pity I won't be joining you.

Sorry to hear that.

At the end of the day there isn't really another car out there to compare the Alpine to or to switch your order to.

I would have waited because it's worth the wait but I do understand the frustration.
Mines for keeps and waiting a bit longer for it would not have bothered me, I intend to enjoy it for a long time, there is no other car out there that offers what the A110 does as a package.

+1. A lot of us have had long and frustrating delays and dealer interactions that leave quite a lot to be desired. But at the end of the day the car is worth it. Please have a think about it, even though the knee-jerk reaction is very compelling.

There are cars (PE, Pure and Legende) available in the UK. Not sure where you are, but something like this might fit the bill. I've no connection with this dealer, other than having bought a car from them about 7 years ago. Just an example.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Unfortunately I didn't simply cancel it in a fit of rage (of course there was a small part of that) but mainly because I don't want to own a car where the nearest dealer is an hour away as well as being worse than useless, and the importer doesn't do anything useful when you escalate to them. At the time of writing I haven't received the promised refund of deposit either so that's only helping me think I made the right decision.

Here's a better picture

How are people getting on with the cracked windscreen issue? Has this now been resolved?

On my side I've not had many faults to report. My stop start doesn't work well and I had a minor paint issue which was resolved. That aside, the car seems to be working well. 2000+ miles to date with a mixture of inner London traffic, long motorway journeys and some awesome B road blasts.

On third windscreen and all holding up well so I'm hoping it's sorted....although now I've mentioned it... :silent

Alternative adhesive apparently.

Hi all,

My better half picked up her Legende last weekend. It’s being detailed and “plastic protected” at the moment.

Detailer has removed the wheels for cleaning/coating and we can’t find the wheel nut torque anywhere? Can anyone help?

Thanks!

Its 130 Nm for the wheels nuts.

I got that from the French Forum though I did later find reference to it in the information sheet tucked in the box the locking wheel nuts came in.

Anyway the wheels haven't fallen off mine yet.

Thanks for the wheel nut torque info hmy7k

Next question ... just completed a 70 mile run. Temperature gauge fluctuated from 78 to 104 whilst at a pretty much constant speed on the motorway? Once at home it took probably 10+ minutes for the engine fan to turn off? Normal or a problem?!

Thanks!

Hi Tim,

I have sent you a PM about who you used for detailing and PPF.

Thanks,

Mark

Normal on both counts. Mine smelt a bit "hot" after a run when new too.

Hi guys,

Not sure if you're all following the events board, but I've just added a new one for our Cars and Coffee at Alpine Centre Manchester on Sunday 31st March.

It would be brilliant if we could get a decent turnout of new Alpine's on-site and gives you all the chance to meet, ahead of some of future events for 2019.

Please let me know if you'll be able to make it at [email protected]
