As John is being shy (probably as I suspect he has spend the whole afternoon driving his Atmo and hasn't made it back here yet) I just though I'd let everyone know that he has fixed it- the electronic ignition unit was at fault.
Cheers

...and I can add to my experience that the ignition amp never fails on DeLoreans probably because they live inside the car!

Hi all, and yes your right Lee had a great drive in the beast, like meeting up with an ex-page 3 girl........still got the looks, just abit rough when you look close...........still got the moves, but the knee's are a bit creaky now...........still got the "bonking" appeal, but show her some respect 8) .

Is it me ? or does every 10th car try to race me?..and i had forgot the stare's!!.   ...............YES i'm driving a red sports coupe that most people have never seen before, it costs a fraction of a Ferrari,Porsche 911 price and yet even them drivers stare!!. and what's with BMW 3 drivers it's like a red flag to a bull...........leave me alone!!

But i love it :D

THANK YOU ALL.( esp Lee, Martin, John) YOU'VE ALL BEEN GREAT.

cheers John and beast.
never really ever thought that i would own a gta, but am i happy that i do!!.

Hi Guys,

What a fantastic result to come back home to. John, I am sure you are as pleased as I am with the team spirit shown by the members of the RAOC, Lee especially, for the way he has gone out of his way to help, bruises and all, and Martin for the ign unit, which could have been a very expensive part to buy, if it had not been the problem.
A lot of information has been posted on this subject by other members, which one would hope will have helped others to understand their cars a bit better than possibly they did before.
One thing I have learnt from this, having read the whole subject through since returning to the forum from my hol, is to focus on the primary fault, ie:- no spark, and ignore the secondary apparant faults, ie:- flashers / wipers etc, until the primary fault is found.
Anyway a good result, keep up the good work RAOC. :D :D :D :D :D :D

Hi Martin
Yes, I will be. However I think I have to wait till July, but I do intend to join. I am away for most of June, so my intention is to apply for membership as soon as I get back, thats assuming I wont be black balled for rambling on so much. And I hope to come over to the UK later on in the year, if there is an event, where a number of members will be, so I can meet up with you lot and you can all laugh at how an OAP gets in and out of a GTA. Perhaps there should be a special GTA`s OAP`s event, I wonder how many there would be, as I might be the only one in the car park!!!!
