Then serac

Can’t remember if I got the weight of those legende 18 inch retro black Fuchs - don’t like them anyway

If I can find the email I’ll post them here

Found them:-

Fuchs

- 1 Rim 18’’ Fuchs Front = 9 Kg + 1 tyre Front 18’’ = 8,9 Kg
- 1 Rim 18’’ Fuchs Rear = 9,4 Kg + 1 tyre Rear 18’’ = 10,2 Kg
- Total car : 75 Kg

17’’ :
- 1 rim 17’’ fr = 8,2 Kg + 1 tyre fr 17’’ = 8,8 Kg
- 1 rim 17’’ rr = 9 Kg + 1 tyre rr 17’’ = 9,9 Kg
- Total car 17’’ : 71.8 Kg

Sérac
- 1 rim 18’’ sérac fr = 10,6 Kg + 1 tyre fr 18’’ = 8,9 Kg
- 1 rim 18’’ sérac rr = 11,3 Kg + 1 tyre rr 18’’ = 10,2 Kg
- Total car 18’’ : 82 Kg

Really interesting. You didn't get any figures for the "big" brakes? Given their construction it's not a given that they are heavier than the small ones.

No I didn’t ask about that - just went for the big brakes regardless

Something odd there. The tyre widths are the same in all variants - 205 Front, 235 Rear.
17 inch tyres have higher sidewalls (45 profile as opposed to 40), therefore intuitively more rubber.
And not just intuitively.

I don't have the data for the Alpine tyres, but choosing at random Pilot Supersport at the same sizes:
P Super Sport 235/45 17 = 23.9lbs
P Super Sport 235/40 18 = 23.5lbs

ie 17 inch tyres at the same width are heavier.
Think of it this way: Both tyres have the same 25.4" OD, but the 18 inch tyres have a bigger hole in the middle!
I suspect you have got the tyre weights the wrong way round.

Maybe. Just quoting what I was told.

As a result of that ordered the 18 inch Fuchs instead of the seracs

Planning on having the Fuchs refinished like the premiere edition models

Of course you would expect the 17" tyres to be heavier because they have more rubber in the sidewalls. Obviously the construction of the rim has a signficant bearing, but as a rule of thumb if the overall tyre diameter is the same, the rim of the same design and tyre brand/construction likewise, the weight of the wheel/tyre combination doesn't vary that much. That said different brands of tyres can vary a lot in weight - up to 3kg per tyre.

Hi guys,

Just a quick one to let you know, our A110 showroom stock is now available for sale, with a release date of July. I've potentially got a few things up my sleeve for a quicker delivery than normal too.

Feel free to drop me a message or an email, if you're interested in finding out what we have available and beat the 10-12 month delivery schedule.

Well, after another test drive and some soul searching, yesterday I placed an order for an A110 Légende in Alpine blue and a few other goodies. Apparently I'm order #21 in Sweden (not bad considering the opening event for the dealer was last week!).

Right now I'm looking at delivery in October or so, but I have the option to delay until March if I don't want to take delivery of it as the Swedish winter comes in. Can't wait!

the sums don’t add up. 17” overall is 3.2 kg lighter than Fuchs but from individual weights, the total weight saving is 1.4kg [(0.1x2)+(0.3x4)] only

the total weight per wheel and tyre for Fuchs must be greater than 8.9kg as the wheel alone is 9kg?

Not sure what you are adding to what but perhaps you’d like to read it again.

The plus sign in the above paragraphs means “and” not “add”

So for example
Fuchs front per corner will be 17.9
Fuchs rear per corner will be 19.6
Making Fuchs total (2x17.9)+(2x19.6)=75

17 inch front per corner will be 17kg
17 inch rear per corner will be 18.9
Making 17 inch total (2x17)+(2x18.9)=71.8

Ok?

enroute to Le mans for some mysterious launch this week.....

never thought I would want a list but now find myself needing one just to remind me: Clio V6 230, 5 gt turbo, 5 Gordini turbo, Megane RS 300 Trophy.
