You have freeflow exhaust and are de-catted, and I could collect it for you as it is Hampshire, BUT..... I think you sold your atmo, unless you got that 77 year olds grey one?

The problem with putting a centrifugal blower like that on the V6 turbo is it will only run around 8-10psi max and wont come on boost early like a turbo (eg, 14psi at 3000rpm). The boost on the rotrex rises exponentially with revs, so you will get say 8psi at 6000, 4 psi at 3000...

Well.....as this is a fantasy purchase because youre skint  why not plumb it in as well as the turbo!!!! Lancia ran the S4 Delta rally car with both to elimintate lag......so why not?!
Out of interest....if the turbo manifolds are sooooo bad why is it not possible to rig up the standard turbo with atmo manifolds and a section of flexible exhaust pipe?

Cue answer from David saying its not possible! .......................

I thought it was the exhaust manifolds that were restrictive, after all on the inlet side we are on-boost with 10-15 psi.

Yes.....those are the manifolds! The exhaust gases leave the engine and go through the turbo.

Where are the Canadians? and what have they done???

What are peoples thoughts on bastardising GTA's using different engines to get more power...?

At present bellhousing adaptors are available for:

Rover V8 - low original spec, but cheap to tune. 260-300bhp achievable n/a - but a bit old fashioned - Lighter than PRV

Ford Cosworth 2.0 Turbo - Skys the limit for tuning - heavy

Yank V8s - cheap to buy, tune, but heavy and again, a bit old fashioned...

Renault 21 Turbo - Cheap to buy - 250bhp upwards and good low end torque - still renault - 60kilos lighter than PRV

..and the final one which interests me .....

Toyota / Lexus 4.0 32v V8

As used in the LS400 and Soarer - 250-300bhp standard n/a - Ultra smooth and rev to 8000rpm... 20kgs heavier than PRV

So its do able then?????

As for the engine swap.....good idea if you are desperate for more power, but the cars a classic and the PRV is a reliable lump.....not sure the standard chassis is going to cope with super power....300bhp is a nice amount and it'll be doable once you sort out the ECU!!!?? :D I need my standard engine to stay on track in a sensible class.

Because the atmo manifolds are just as bad! :D

Basically its the diameter of the piping and the fact that they both join at the turbo which is even smaller. If they are made any bigger then you just get loads of lag..
