Wonder IF/How one of these would work?

Postby gt5 » Fri Mar 03, 2006 1:46 pm

Just curious if such as this would work on a GTA? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... Track=true
Just thinking with running more boost, The RX7 has one of these even though its fitted with the Apexi Power FC ECU

It seems to be basically what Tony is planning for his track car......he is planning to run one extra injector. This thing says it will run up to eight....but there isnt anywhere to put 8 on a GTA!!!! He posted a link to the thing he is thinking of buying recently.
Its bound to work....adding more fuel but only at high boost so it wont run massively rich lower down is what you need.....and what the now infamous DG ECU will do :D . Not sure about the one for sale though...it looks very 2nd hand!

For god sake Steve you a nightmare!

If you want to make an easy 7th injector kit, you don't need all that crap. Just plumb in an injector into the plenum, plumb the injector into the fuel feed, wire it in parralel with the other 6 injectors so it pulse at the same time, and fit a pressure switch into the plenum (but this must be interupting the earth to the 7th injectors.

So, when say 20psi is hit, the pressure switch makes the connection between the 7th and the other 6 pulsing, and adds extra fuel. The right amount is down to what size injector you use..

..but then, don't....

Do it correctly the first time, so you don't need all this heath robinson fandago injector dogleg crap

think i would rather use something that is tried tested and you can you can fine tune that set up(not that i need it as the dasktec can run a 7th injector :) )

Well yes, sort of... Its a add on, much like you would have to use on a GTA with the factory ecu...Most factory japanese ecus (like the GTA) are not remappable, they need the fuel cut's removing to run more boost. So to get extra fuel they run a fifth injector....

To get proper power on a japanese car, they then switch to a unit such as the PowerFC (standalone), and run fully mapped with proper size injectors.

As for running a 7th injector on the Dastek, why not just have it completely remapped with larger injectors. 5th (or 7th injectors) are not ideal due the the fact the single injector is never in a good placement (normally just dumping alot of fuel into the inlet manifold..)

thats what im plannining on doing just fitting bigger injectors,i cant really see the point of fitting a 5th/7th injector to get around the fuel cut defender on japanese cars because it would be cheaper to get it removed rather than buy an injector kit

At last - a place that sells flux capacitors! All I need now is a Delorean. And there's a full 100% refund if you return it up to 30 days before purchase - hold me back!.
