Triple Weber question and for sale on ebay

I would love these for my alpine a310 but being in australia it is something to far away. I always thought they were 42 down draught webers or is that Venturis size???, I maybe wrong as people are doing plenty of interesting things with the Atmo PRV's here, and maybe the more tech savvy alpine dudes here have a better idea about these things... I only know about 45DCOE's on my R15 and have yet to enter the realm of down draught induction on a V6...

I would suggest the Webers are ex Porsche, and would be good value at even 500 euro. 40s will work fine and depending on mods would run 32 or 34mm venturis on your A310. Similar to your DCOEs to play with.

Hi
These are 40it carbs as used on Porsche 2ltr cars, and on Talbot Tangora's, which these came from (the inlet Manifolds are from Tangora). For more info on the Carbs search the web Tabot tangora 40it

They have a 32mm ventura, but can be machined out to about 36mm without problems. Beware though the carbs are difficult to overhaul, some parts seem to be no longer available, and the jets can be very difficult to remove if the carb has not seen petrol in a while. Jets though are easy as they use 'standard' Weber parts and are not carb specific.

The Manifolds have a restriction in them, you need to remove this if you want to get the best out of the setup, but the aluminuim is very this in the resticted area, and although you will still be working in metal when removing the restriction it will become ultra thin and make break away. best way to get round this is to fill the water jacket with hich temprature (pourable) epoxy this will strengthen the assembly.

Air filters are very expensive if you get the K&N setup (Euro 200+ on ebay, or Euro 500+ from K&N) throttle mechanism is easy and the airbox can be intresting! Let me know if you buy them, have some spairs and can help futher if needed.

These guys will rebuild the carbs and modify to suit the GTA .
The manifolds are the hardest bit to source so snap them up if you can 8)

I thought Simon Auto sold them (obviously not cheap...)

The manifolds for a triple carb can be obtained from Ferry development, Simons I bvelieve are for 44ida's which are twin's (you use 3 carbs!) in many ways Simons soloution is easist as it provides a very simple throttle connection, in line, rather than opposed on the triple barrels.

Money no object find a pair of 46ida 3c's (second hand),use ferrys manifold and bobs your uncle! All at the bargain price of 4000+euro's!!!
