R5 Alpine/Gordini restoration

Morning all

Mr Townsend pointed me in this direction a while back so thought i'd join up. I'm restoring a G5 Turbo at the minute and I was hoping to put this in the Forsale and Wanted section but can't as only users with specific permissions may post in there :oops:

I've just finished the engine, the bodywork is nearly there so i'm making preparations to start the brakes and runnign gear next however i've run in to a slight problem. The car has been stored for 6 years in an open barn and all the bushes seem to be non existent... pretty much similar to my chances of sourcing spares!

Does anyone know where I might be able to find a complete set of ARB, trailing arms and so on in either new *old* stock or "poly" or am I going to have to remortgage the house to get a few sets made on spec?

Hello fellow gordini turbo owner :D , speak to phildini on here as he's changed all his bushes on his one last year . I think that some are unavailable now though .

Thanks peeps, I fell in love with the Dini's years ago and it took me ages to find one that hadn't rotted away where it counted. Just found out about hte bush bombshell this morning so i'll drop him a PM. Here's mine as it stands at the minute:

Forgot to add that the rears seem to be OK but the front ARB's and wishbones are non-existent so fingers crossed someone, somewhere has some sat on a shelf in a garage in the middle of nowhere!

Loving your Dini's ride height by the way.... inspiring!

Have you asked Mecaparts?
Alpine A110, Renault Safrane 2.5dt, Hudson Kindred Spirit (Renault powered), transAlp (Honda) and Ducati Multistrada

love that blue dini on ebay in the link above 8) . I'm sure that phil got all the front end bushes ok so you should be alright . I love mine but will be selling it in the spring due to the fact that i'm retiring from front wheel drive cars . The dinis are super front wheel drive motors though with go-kart handling and a nice balance once lowered and uprated . They really shift with 200 bhp , i can promise you that not much can keep up once rolling over 40 mph . You can ask all the owners of the ferraris , tvr's and escort cosworths arses i've kicked over the years !!!!!!!!! :lol: :lol: :lol:

no understeering in mine or any other 5 gordini with lowered ride height . The engines are north/south and right back into the bulkhead and they turn and steer sweetly , you'll get more understeer in G.T.A.'s whilst trying to keep up !!!!!!! :lol: :lol: :lol:

I've aproached PowerFlex who will make me some if I have 20 sets but it's a lot of cash to lay out so if I can find some OE Items on a shelf i'll be happy as a pig in shizzite!
