Using silklone Pro-S at the moment, as I bought a job lot some time ago. Good stuff by all accounts, as I haven't got anymore left now, I'll go with Mobil 1 next change. Can't get better oil swithout going to group 5 ester based synthetics (motul etc). :D

If you use the search on here you'll find a thread by 'oilman' who can tell you what you should use. He'll also tell you that many things like 'magnetic oil' are marketing tools and that 'high milage' is the same as normal but it's a cheap way of finding out what your using it in.
On my A310s I use cheap 20/50 as they've both done over 60k (mls) but it's much more important on a turbo.

The Z7U is I D E N T I C A L internally to the naturally asp 91mm engines, as far as oil is concerned. The only difference is the oil feed to the turbo which is tapped off the main supply.

I've met an odd problem on a high mileage Z7U recently which sounded tappetty but actually had nothing whatsoever wrong on the drivetrain, and the tappets were spot on. I was not stripping that engine and everything inside was/is spotless, so the jury is still out.

The only thing this engine has that most other PRVs don't is the late Z7U's use the lighweight aluminium rockers.

Got a DeLorean clutch on the go, finishing tom, then some panels to strip for repair, then hopefully I'll get Darren's sub-frame back and that'll go first, THEN the 25's are coming in for surgery.

This doesn't include anything Rob decides to do with the blue one...

my turbo comes off the road for winter and stays in a garage until may, i went with a fully charged battery today turned the key, the ignition lights came on, turned the key to start, it cranked over for two seconds then fired up on all six cylinders, 1000rpm for 3 minuets then settled at 800.i use the best oil available, 20/50 £6.99 for 5litres from the motor factor, as recomended in the handbook it might not be ELF but it'll do.
