Heater/ Windscreen Setting/ Heater cable

Postby a22 » Wed Apr 02, 2008 6:45 pm

Just realised my heater is stuck on the 'face' setting and cannot switch it to 'windscreen' or 'feet' etc.
I presume that it is just the cable popped out somewhere..... just wondered how to get inside the thing to see what's going on? I guess the cable has either come out the heater blower end or the centre console end.......
How do I get to the cable ends etc to see? Do I have to take much out?
Thanks in advance

In the passanger side, remove the carpeted side to the console, the torx screws are buried in the pile of the carpet. That should expose the cable ends attached to the quardants that control the flaps. I would try that first the other end is a bit more tricky. There should be a screw in the foward face of the front box in the center consul, which must be removed. then push down on the rear part of the heater control panel which should drop into the consol. You can then manover the panel up through the hole to inspect the cables. It is also worth detaching the gear lever gaiter from the consul, where you can get your fingers under the panel when refitting it.Let us know how you get on :)
