boost to ego ......

Postby baldrick » Fri Sep 05, 2008 11:48 am

as we all know our cars a quite rare now and also quite well appriciated by the public and other classic car people too.

last sunday i was lucky enough to fullfill a boyhood dream and drive a ferrari testerossa (as all blokes of a certain age will agree this was THE car that was a poster on their wall).

however whilst driving this car around the swooping country roads of hampshire with the owner sat next to me i mentioned that i had an alpine at home and low and behold he confesses that he loves the looks of these cars and has always admired them (didnt want to swap though)

this topped a really great day. really nice bloke that owned the car and really friendly.

i put that there incase anyone else fancys a drive in this truely iconic '80s supercar.

Yeah, think i had a poster of a Testarossa above a Countach. Strange i seemed to notice i'd get more looks in the 610 when i first bought it. These days nobody seems that bothered. I get the odd "what car is that mate" and stuff, but i used to get that when i owned a GTI-R so... Maybe everyone in the area has got used to seeing the car about now. How was the Redhead? Apparently they're a bit of a pain on the road what with being too wide and heavy and that. Same problem with the Countach too as i remember.
