Will be set for different level of boost 8psi and just under 14psi for a 21 turbo and the 610 doesn't run any where near that.

Does the 610 have staged boost,
However this said, the ECU on a 21 has a boost limiting valve and this is set to an upper limit. Is the 610 ECU set up in the same way?

There's no such thing as mechanical boost limiting valve, except the wastegate.Some flavours of renix ECU actually have an electronic cut run off a seperate pressure switch. It's in some of the wiring diagrams but I forget which. Paul C's Venturi 260 has it. I think it's a conservative safety feature in case the map sensor goes doolally, and can be un-plugged and leave it to the primary map.
