Battery maintainance

I use my GTA Turbo very little and to conserve the battery I keep it
disconnected from the leads.This is a bit of a pain if the sun comes out and I want to go for a quick spin!I thought about getting a battery maintaing device but was put off by the yellow warning sticker by the battery stating that it should not be charged unless the leads were disconnected.
Any body any thoughts on this?

I'd just stick to disconnecting the earth lead .Not heard very good comments about 'trickle feed' type things .The don't seem to be that efficient .
Takes me about 2 mins to reconnect the earth ,the sun is usually still about by the time I've done :P

I had the same issue but had a late GTA with a "quick release" earth strap to the battery. I may have one spare from a breaker if you want it pm me.

Yeap quick release, is the only way forward, I have it on all my cars :wink:

I used to disconnect the battery until I heard good things about this particular battery conditioner gizmo. It does proper charging, trickle charging and conditions and tests the battery.

Oxford Maximiser 360T

I've been using it for several months now and it's been great. I've attached the quick connector to my battery, so it's really easy to connect/disconnect and the battery is always tip-top.

Don't be put off by the motorcycle focus on the website. It's got a mode for car batteries.
