Wiring diagram needed GTA

Postby Paul Fitzpatrick » Sat Mar 20, 2010 6:44 pm

Anyone got a wiring diagram for a GTA? Doesn't seem to be one in the tech section. I have a wiper problem, despite changing motor, relay and switch (thanks Martin!) the wipers don't park - so there must be a wiring fault. So any help or a diagram gratefully received!

Yes, the yellow wire on pin 3 is the after ign permanent 12v to carry the motor to its park position when the wipers have been switched off. Check if you have 12v on that yellow wire when the wipers are off, with the ign on, if it is there (it is unfused) and the wipers still do not park correctly the actual park switch is built into the motor. It is a rotary wiper arm which moves onto an insulated sector when the park position is reached.

Contact cleaner spray might also be your best friend....

The connectors from my Wiper motor were in a terrible state. All badly corroded, and covered in green junk.

Thanks for that. Wiper motor is Ok and relay is ok too. So I reckon that feed has to be the problem. Thanks fellas - I'll have a look tomorow.
