Recommend a good Renault Dealership

Postby Lee G » Wed Jun 16, 2010 7:49 pm

I need to buy a new Renault in the UK, however, I need to order a LHD 'french' spec one.

I did this the other year with a new Alfa Romeo and did it via my local dealership with no issues at all - I had to pay for the car in full up-front, but that's not a problem. I didn't save any money on the car being LHD, but at least I got exactly what I was after...

Anyway, I spoke to my local Renault dealership and they were rubbish, totally un-interested and thats being polite.

All I'm after is a poxy Renaultsport Clio 200 Cup in LHD 'french' spec (kmh etc). How difficult can it be???

If anyone can point me in the direction of a good UK dealership that would be prepared to help, that would be great.

I know people will say just go out to France and buy one, but there is a method in the madness.....

Cheers Lee

Unless there is stock of the spec you require in France you may have to wait upto 2 months + for your car as there is a production delay & waiting list, then you have the August factory shut down which will add to the delay.
As for recommened dealers I would try the Renault nominated RS dealers
http://www.renaultsport.co.uk first then it is a question of how far you are prepared to travel??

there is method in the madness.... if you bought it in te UK it will end up being a lot cheaper than on the continent, we looked into doing it with a Megane RS 250, you need to chat to someone from Ren UK on the Renault Sport forum and they'll put you in touch with a dealer who could help....as we all know most of them are renouwn for crap service. you'll pay a few hundred quid premium on the UK price for the privilige of a Lhd and have to put down a much larger securing deposit than normal to cover the dealer if you decide to back out........

Try Lifestyle Renault in Tunbridge Wells. my recommendation is based on their parts department who're brilliant in the way most aren't when it comes to seeking out old V6 parts...
