Definately less hassle owning this version but probably not quite as much fun!!

might buy one
Actually it's quite easy to buy from Ottomobil. Yes they do sell out quickly, but generally speaking if you go on line at the time the models are released for sale, you will be able to buy one. It is also easy (and free) to register with the club so that you can then pre-order a maximum of 2 of each model before they are released.
I've just registered, and the folks at Ottomobil are really helpful - 'Sandrine' seems to be the main contact.
The models themselves are very nicely made and really well packed and Otto seem to have an efficient posting service. Prices are around 39 euros each plus postage, but if you miss the boat some dealers will charge over twice as much on Ebay. Also, they aren't always able to offer the full intended production run (which is why they can sell out quickly). For instance, the recently released yellow A610 should have had a run of 1500, but they were only able to get 1000 from their supplier (Chinese of course!) and the run sold out in just a few hours. I believe they will be releasing a Magny Cours in January.
If like me you like Alpine models as well as the real thing, get in touch with the company - you won't be disappointed.
Cheers all.
