A110 diff

hi

just wondering if anyone knows what sort of Diff the works/rally A110s would have been running..?

were they running some kind of LSD?

I have seen a Hewland LSD fitted to these transaxles. It has a multi sided eliptical piece in the centre that then rode up on ramps with springs behind them and sort of clonked over. No plates inside like a normal LSD. The weak point is the output splines that shear off clean like it was parted on a lathe.

fyi they used a Hewland "cam and pawl" type, noisy & very prone to rapid wear!
