A610 rear seat belt fitting

Postby STUARTQ » Fri Apr 29, 2016 12:11 pm

Hi Fellas,

My name is Stuart Quick, my company is Quickfit. http://www.quickfitsbs.com

Many years ago for Renault London we fitted rear lap and diagonal seat belts into an A610.

we have another one in today roughly 25 years later for the same job, but i wanted to find a drawing showing the chassis.#ive googled of course ,but nothing has come up, so i wondered if anyone on here may have a copy they can send me.

Cheers
Stuart

I think it depends on the age of the car whether it has the upper rear mounts.

Looks like the rear stiffener that would form the top mount changes at chassis number 10547.
I had a very later A610...one of the last 10, I couldn't find the top mount on that either, even with the interior out.
Let us know (ideally with pictures) what you can manage.

Cheers.

That's very helpful thank you.

I think the late cars had an anchor point too.

The car we have in our workshop doesn't have one, but we have figured out now a away to make a suitable anchor point.
you will only be able to fit a static lap and diagonal, but this is certainly far better than the std lap straps.

I'll post up some photo's once we have finished the job.

Thanks again for the info

I saw 3 point (static diagonal) fitted to a blue A610...up at Lee's..i think used to belong to Rottbott L790 VLR...the current owner could confirm if on here ??
It looked "period"...and after market rather than Renault..so maybe the one quickfitsbs did (mentioned above)..

Paul Sage on a couple of GTAs had put plates across the back of the bulkhead..and fitted 4 points belts.

I'd be interested in quickfitsbs solution for my GTA too..I'd considered a visit already to ask them/you...Pleased to hear you think you can make it work...!

so, interestingly, we have found that the drivers side rear does not have a seat belt anchor point, but the passengers side does.
this is not the first time we have found this in a car, but it is pretty damn unusual.

The one I remember was yellow, had been a Renault London sales car that had then been sold on.

its possible of course that we have done the same to others and i wasn't around.

Ahhhh..at least I thought it had rear 3 point seat belts...it might have been another blue 610 up at Lee's in the 2014 open day...

So, got the car back today and Stuart and the guys at Quickfitsbs have done an really good job on the rear belts. I now have 3 point static seat belts for both rear seats.

Only took them a three hours and as above, a really good job. If anyone else is interested let me know and I'll post some photos.

...PS....can someone update the title of this post to GTA....ta......

If it saves a life, reduces an injury and makes one feel a little safer.....is money well spent.
