GTA rear fuel pump and filter - refitting?

Postby Simon_Wej » Sun Nov 20, 2016 1:28 pm

Hi....schoolboy error, I took the rear fuel pump, filter off my GTA and didn't take pictures for the refit! Does anyone have any pictures of these in situ in the rear wheel arch? My main stumbling block is the capacitor (?) that connects to the fuel pump is on its own bracket and that acts as a support for the plastic cover....but I can't figure out where that capacitor/bracket connects to....could be the filter bracket, could be the pump bracket.....difficult to do a trial and error thing because it's all a bit squeezed in!

Thanks in advance

An update.......I had to resort to a lot of trial and error but in the end the fuel pump capacitor clamp slotted in behind the fuel pump (held between the fuel pump bracket and wheel arch) and that put the captive nut on the clamp in the right place to carry the plastic cover plate....simple when you see it, I'll try and post a picture.

I had to drill the filter clamp retaining bolts out of the chassis (they sheared off when I undid them) and replace them with the same size flat head bolts and bonded them in place on the inside of the bodywork where the rear seat goes.

Bit of a project this!
