Water pipe

Postby JohnC » Sun Apr 11, 2010 1:33 pm

Any one know where I can obtain a new on of these, I could fabricate one but would really prefer to have an original pipe. Pic below shows the part. It is the one that goes from the side of the reservoir to the big hose.
Thanks.

Lotus dealer might have one, but that will be twice the price of an expensive Renault one.

John, there is no need to rebuild all of your car before Macon.
It will be 'fine' which is probably a bit better than some of the cars attending.

Hi Richard,

I suppose you are right  .......I did rather assume it was a Alpine specific part and not available......I`ll pop down to them tomorrow  Thanks

Hi Simon,

The Alp has not had much done to it for a long time so Macon was a good excuse to give it a good going over. Should be in good nick by the time I have finished

Pipe apparently is available from Renault, but from France and on back order for around £17......so I have ordered it...hope to have more luck with that than the rad which I am now informed is no longer available from Renault  but to my surprise we have a small coppersmiths buisness here who can recore my GTA rad if and when necessary :D
In the mean time I have been able to repair the small split in the pipe with self amalgamating tape which will keep me going

I got my GTA's radiator re-cored by Serck Intertruck and they did a fine job and only took a couple of days - and very reasonable. They did offer to send mine down to their motorsport division to use as a template for a custom-made sports one but funds didn't really allow at the time.
