Has anyone find out how much the Spider that was for sale at Coy's over the weekend went for????
I wasnt able to hang round for long enough to see it go through.

hammer price 12500 ......it struggled,

but it's had a hard life and isn't original spec... plus it has a sheet of ally for a floor as the previous owner couldn't source replacement floor panels plus several other non standard mods even though the original bits he required are available from a well known french spider parts supplier so it would be simple to put it back to original

no its not the same car would be 35000 euros plus on the continent plus the vendor is a bit of a fruitcake i'd never buy a car from him..... beware!

Just to put the record straight, yes, the car had been thrashed frequently, like they were built to do. However it was maintained, and improved, by a professional race team, so running gear all maintained to a high standard. The floor was sheet aluminium because the idea is to lighten the car when racing. How do I know this? It was one of my Race Spiders
I still have 2 complete original heavy floors. One will be used in Spider Race Car Chassis Number 1, as this is now being put back together.
If anyone wants part worn spider rubber let me know, we've started a clear out which will include many bits, exhausts, tyres, wheels, engines, wishbones, ball joints, some bodywork molds, cooling fans, fuel tank etc etc

why would anyone want old rock hard tyres.....
maybe you can donate them to a circuit to make some barriers with
plus original floors aren't heavy...... they're extremely light as we have them refabricated in france and have sold quite a few accross europe, a sheet of ally doesn't really do the job it's just a bodge and it won't make the car any lighter as it's more dense pe square metre compared to the honycomb skinnned floor..... race spiders sell at their best prices in original unmodded condition

I'm sure race spiders do make the most money in original condition, but if you want them to be fast and win races and do what they were built for there are things that can be done to improve them, as I'm sure you will know with all your experience over many years of racing spiders and having all those race wins under your belt.

thanks for the concern, yes thanks jon, i didn't even touch the gravel, it locked came to a stop still on te black stuff and just brushed the barrier with the right front wheel, a little graze on the side of the front clam the size of your palm which will tcut out and a couple of balljoints, i'll probably change all the baljoints and the bearing to be safe though, it sounded a lot worse than it was the flatspot of the tyre caused the most noise.

the red visor was down after the previous run..... it was the last of the weekend so you have to try i suppose..... pity i didn't make it to christal palace maybe next year
