This is the Europa Cup diff
It fits into the original casing apart from shimming and unlikely its a Ford item, mainly because it would need to be from a transaxle (which Ford have never made), and the 4 helical gears and crownwheel etc are still Renault parts (as used on the A610) which are unlikely to work with no modifications to non Renault parts..
If the diff was physically larger, so much work would need doing. You would need new castings for the box casing, and even the bellhousing would need the cast bells (where the diff rins) next to the input shaft to clear it, but you can see on the Prima box that the bellhousing is standard.[/quote]
The machining that was carried out wasn't on the bell housing etc to allow crown wheel clearance but to some of the internal parts around where the speedo drive normally goes, possibly to allow the diff carrier to fit as it was bulkier than a standard unit. As for a Ford item I am only going on what I was told when I took it to a ZF specialist for an estimate on rebuilding the LSD with new plates, hence the question mark.
I have still got some of the set up info for the box/diff and the bell housing which I am keeping for now.
