I doubt Stephen would bid much more than £100 for it???
It was a low starting price, so expect a lot more bids to be made.

In the photos it looks like the front end must be bent somewhat, as there seems to be an excess of positive camber. Interior looks excellent, and barring the damage seems to be cared for, going by the engine bay.

The pearl GTA had been advertised many times and doesn't seem to sell. It looks OK but I think it's on a French logbook still (look at the plates) and that must be putting people off.

pearl GTA

Postby clivebawden » Tue May 03, 2005 12:19 pm

I viewed the pearl GTA almost a year ago, it seemed to drive OK but I think the interior was a bit tatty. I was very suspicious about the French registration, the owner gave me some story about his 'father' owning the car whilst living in France and said it would be no problem getting it a UK registration. If that's true why hasn't he done it yet? I offered him £3500 at the time, but he wouldn't take it (luckily!)

GTA on French Plates

Postby andyh877 » Tue May 03, 2005 4:21 pm

I f you need to get a french car or any other European registered in the UK as long as it has a Certificate of Conformity and the french registration papers it should be ok and if the car hasn't got a certificate of confromity as long as it is over 10 years old it won't need an SVA test so registration will be straiaght forward and you'll have to get it to pass an MOT also. There shouldn't be any VAT or taxes to pay on it either as the car has plenty of miles on it and it's over 6 years old.

I think the guy has it on French plates because he doesn't want to pay any road tax or get flashed by speed cameras and get nicked in the UK!

Andy

Not french registered, just French style plates. My tungsten turbo had these and still has. Strictly speaking illegal in the UK and won't protect you from digital cameras, but they are non-reflective so you may have better luck with GATSO'S!!
