Thats not a sensor, its a pipe that goes of at a right angle to the back..

Don't know if it is threaded (and the same as the thread for the GTA sensor, as that is a metric fine thread..)

Looks about the right diameter as the sensor thread and should be tapped ,don't think Ren would change thread types ,that'd just be silly   I might offer him a couple of quid ....................

Has anyone ever tooled up to make bolt-on pulleys for the GTA''s? The pumps are available for as little as £35 from Volvo (1985 Volvo 760) the only differencce being they used a 4-bolt pulley. This means that in the future, the pump is a doddle to replace. There've been bolt on pulleys available for the DeLorean for years to take advantage of the cross reference at a fraction of the price. Ours are single V-belt though.

Hi,
just a quick info on the waterpumps:

We tried to fit a R25 V6T waterpump (should be the same as the Alpine's) to a Renault 25 V6 with the Z7W 2.9L evenfire engine. The setup is identical to the one in the Espace 2.9L...

The Turbo pump does not fit! Or better said: Of course it fits mechanically. The problem is the temp-senor on the Turbo engines that has a thread. In contrast, the tubing bit on the Z7W engine (as the one on ebay) is just pressed in- no thread.

Changing the pump on the Z7W engine is really a pain in the neck... You have to allign those two hoses at the rear of the pump plus a third connecting to the tubing bit which connects to a metal non-flexible metal tube under the inlet manifold..

So as always :D - working on the turbo engine is simpler :)

The Volvo pump has a smaller thread on the right hand sensor ,it's smaller so may tap out to suit the Ren sensor ..........................

Is this one any good, or should I head off to the local Renault dealer?
