The auction ends 14/12/07 at just gone midnight!

As to be found in the listing above!

This is the gearbox from the A610 crashed by Jeremy Clarkson on his current DVD. My friend bought the engine for use in his car and I'll be selling off the stuff he won't be using. We will be using the main engine, and everything attached to the intake manifold, but the rest is up for grabs - mail me for more info.
The gearbox is absolutely fine and intact. The crash ripped a drive shaft out of its yoke so the gearbox didn't receive a jolt and the engine ran for a few seconds after it came to rest in 3rd gear. I have gone through all the gears and spun it by hand and it's as smooth as silk. Both driveshafts have been spearated at the yoke so it's still holding all its oil too.

To kit car and Lotus people, this is the tallest gearset built into a UN1 and has the following ratios:

3.36 1st, 2.05 2nd, 1.38 3rd, 0.96 4th, 0.76 5th, 3.55 rev, 3.44 final drive (diff)

NB I will be swapping over the bellhousing for an earlier non-efi type (or I can have your old one if you're changing like-for-like. Note also that the final drive is "backwards" for a mid-engined car but this can be reversed by any competant mechanic skilled with gearboxes. Alternatively I can offer a rebuild service that would include doing that, bead blasting & painting, plus all new seals for £400.

The starting price is what I will get for it from a friend of mine who specialises in the UN1

Collection preferred but I can deliver at 20p/mile round trip. Located in East sussex, near Hastings
