R888s tyres are classed as type 1B, which means 'sticky'.
In the past, only modified, special, sports libre and open wheeled cars were allowed to run 1B type tyres.
Last year, the MSA allowed Roadgoing cars to use type 1B too.
My car is classed as roadgoing.
2011, is the same as last year, so I am using them again.
But there is a rumour that they will not allow sticky type 1B tyres for 2012 at a local level.
Is that clear, because there are a lot of confused racers out there.
Paul, Toyo Proxies T1 tyres have 8mm tread when new.
Toyo R888s cost nearly twice as mush and only have 5mm tread when new.
Just so you know.
