GTA V6 Turbo Engine/Parts

OK guys and dolls a seperate thread for these lumps me thinks.

First up is the worse one of the 2. It's been left outside (under a cover) but I think the elements have got to it (seized) so I'm breaking the engine (Good learning curve for me :wink: ).

So this is what is available:

Later cross bolt Block/Crank/Pistons and Heads (First Refusal to JonK then Will :wink: )
Turbo (Seized) good for spares/rebuild.
Injectors
Throttle Body
Inlet Manifold
DownPipe
Manifolds
Starter Motor
Heat Shield for the Turbo
Idle Control Valve and Pipework
Dump Valve!
Loads of pipes, hoses etc.
Twin Fuel Reg Setup

Someone better informed than me will tell you if it's an improvement and what you need.

I think it will be reg, fuel rails, pipes? As for price dunno, £40 for everything you need to do the conversion?

Thanks Martin, I just looked at the manuals... lot more involved than i thought :shock: (wrongly assumed it would just be the regulator to swap out).

Scrap that idea then :roll:

My turbo engine had ano air gun used for.maintaining articulated tractor units ..... A massive 3/4 breaker bar bending and having trouble holding the lump down and it never budged the air gun did the trick eventually :lol: :lol: :lol:

This is bad news. I need to remove the crank nut from the A310 engine in the near future. The engine is out of the car but might need to go back in to tie it down! I was hoping that applying some heat and using the torque wrench would do the job.

See if you can acquire or hire a powerful electric impact wrench.....I have one.... most useful piece of kit for stubborn nuts/bolts. :wink:

Main issue with it out the car is stopping it chasing you round the workshop .You need a fat lad to hold it down , BigM is perfect for the job :lol: Even then they can be a botch ..Essential to have a 3/4 breaker bar + extension and the right size socket .
Other issue is locking the crank .I have a toothed flywheel locking tool but you need the bellhousing fitted to be of any use .
Otherwise you will need to get a long M8 bolt ,screw it through the flywheel and into the hole at the back of the block in the middle of the V .Put a nut on it as well to put it under load .

Thanks for the comments.
My engine doesn't have a hole in the middle of the V, just the two tapped holes either side of the V for the top bellhousing bolts. I was thinking of rigging up a bar between these holes with a strap to either the flywheel/clutch bolts or the flywheel teeth. I have the correct socket, what sort of length of breaker bar and extension do you think would be necessary? If this fails I'll consider an impact wrench.
Presumably the nut thread is right hand?

I see what you mean. M8 bolt with nut already on (near head), screwed through clutch mounting hole, tip of bolt engage in circular recess in block, tighten nut against flywheel? Is that right?
Is the nut thread right hand?
