I would like to thank everyone that has currently expresses an interest in these covers. And would also like to thank Stephan for all of his hard work sorting out my club membership.
It seems that many people have tried and failed to get these parts made at an affordable price over the last few years.
I believe that we have now managed to sort this out ( few minor details still to work on but we have the main costs confirmed).
For anyone that would like to see the discussions that have been going on about them with various clubs please see the following links.

http://forum.lotuselancentral.com/viewt ... 85&t=21600I will be having an injection mould made for these parts and there will be a 1 off run of the parts. There will be additional sets made but in a limited quantity.
They will be made from polycarbonite plastic which is UV resistant and I believe is the same as the origional parts? They will be sold on a first come first served basis.
I have been holding off starting production as I was waiting for an earlier part to be finished and shipped to me from this company so as I could reclaim some funds to put into the light cover project.I am just an enthusiast and not a business so I do not have alot of money to spend on projects like this.
See here:
http://forum.lotuselancentral.com/viewt ... 30&t=21650Also the original part that I shipped was damaged in transit. A friend has now offered his brand new light assy cover to be used for the 3D scan for the mould and colour comparison. Be aware that this colour may differ from the lights on your car as it is direct from the factory store room and has not sat in the sun for 20 years.
Mine are serverely sunburnt as they have been in the Middle East for 20 years. So were never really good for a colour match.
As the mould is quite large. I have been quoted 50 days for mould production plus the time it takes the parts to be scanned, produced and shipped to me. Realistically and looking at other smaller projects I think this may take upto 4 months. Due to the size of the parts they will have to come by sea freight so it may take even longer.
Sorry there is nothing I can do about production times. I am happy to wait to recieve a high quality part. This company has made several other parts for me in the past and have done a very good job at an afordable cost. Due to the cost of the project. They have promised to keep production times to a minimum for this part.
I hope to have the new part shipped to the manufacturer in the next week or 2. and will keep everyone informed on the progress of the covers.
Open to any advice, questions or critisism on the project. I would like to deliver the best part possible for an acceptable cost.
Kindest Regards
Wayne
