AAA have organised a large Alpine Meet & Exhibition for the unveiling of the Redele Staue near the Alpine Factory on Saturday 30th August.
Cost is 20 euro per participating vehicle.
There is an optional evening buffet at 25 euro per person.
If you are interested please let me know ASAP as the official closing date was a couple of days ago.
Here's a rough (google assisted) translation of the event info:
The AAA invites all Alpinistes to join them in Dieppe at the wheel of their Alpine, for the inauguration of the memorial Jean Rédélé.
The monument was originally to be erected at Pasteur Avenue, opposite the first workshops Alpine, but the constraints of safety and the environment led us to put this choice in question and the final installation location is Bréauté Avenue, near the Alpine plant.
The work will be unveiled by its creator, sculptor Daniel Druet in Paris in the presence of the family Rédélé, key players in the epic Alpine and local authorities.
The event will focus solely on the day of Saturday, August 30, 2008 and will take place according to the following schedule:
09h / 13h welcome participants on the Front de Mer
09h / 19h Exhibition at the Station Balnéaire
14h / 15h Regroup of Alpines at quai de Norvège
15h / 16h Unveiling of monument avenue de Bréauté
16h / 17h Glass of friendship offered to all participants
17h / 18h Alpine Parade at the memorial
20h / 23h Evening at Saint Nicolas Aliermont
A free bus service will liaise between the Front de Mer and the hall of Saint Nicolas, where a buffet will be offered to diners registered beforehand.
The formula that we have selected is simple and user-friendly, although in the spirit Alpine, and we hope that its cost will enable more to join in this tribute to the''Grand Monsieur'' that was Jean Rédélé.
It should be noted that through the support of the family of Jean Rédélé, but also thanks to the generosity of Alpine fans and admirers of his brilliant creator, that this initiative could see the day. We wish to thank them all.
However, many are still those (clubs or individuals) who have not yet responded to our appeal. We remind them that the subscription would remain open and we urge them to make personal contribution which will maintain the legend Alpine and perpetuate the memory of the man who was at the origin of this myth ...
