so what type of licence do you need to be a real man?

Would advise any sprinters or those thinking of maybe racing to go, from the start of the year for a race licence rather than a non race. Reason is that if you do decide to race during the season, your non race licence stands for nothing and you have to make a fresh, beginners application for the race licence.
You will need to take your ards test and if over a certain age a doctors medical declaration. Anyone doing a Prescott driver training day can pay a little more and have the Ards included.

Fire extinguisher system operable from inside/outsider vehicle ignition cut again inside outside vehicle.
Non spill complient fuel tank plus compatible fuel system fuel lines and brake lines possiby run inside car, complient seat, fire walls, belts and without minimum road going slicks your wasting your time and we have not event mentioned suspension brakes and engine.

Thats why a lot off people go sprinting. Mark has probably done it the right way by purchasing a car thats already been sorted. You wont find a gta thats already been done though.

Ps when you sprint its just a different kind of disapline one chance to get it all right and no real practice or qualifying and łapska to get it right its hammer down and hope the cold tyres grip and if you dont get it right your only wearing minimim requirement suit no 3 layer nomex not even and extinguisher and certainly no cage but you cant still have and accident .......

.............so whose the real man ?

Mark all thats said its great to see you really living the dream i hope i will one day, are you planning a full season of racing next year?

It's not that bad and a lot of it just common sense safety stuff but yes there is a lot to do .
Main expense being the cage ,but it will be cheaper for you lot as Martin and I have had it designed already .
Next biggy on the list is extinguisher system being a bit more involved due to the front fuel tank + firewalls .
Seats/belts etc are all pretty straightforward but still need to comply to a certain level .
The real expense comes with trying to be competitive ....engine ,box brakes .....std GTA stuff will not cut the mustard ...you are better off getting a Porker ..
Far better to go out and buy a ready built race car ,which you can do easily for under a couple of grand ( http://www.classicsportscarclub.co.uk/forsale.htm ) but for us half the fun is building the thing .
